About Pipeline Segment 2
Segment 2 of the pipeline is located between Highway 99 and the Gerber/Vineyard Road intersection in Sacramento County. The segment is 7.6 miles long and begins just east of Highway 99 at East Stockton Boulevard and the extension of Auberry Drive. It continues east along Auberry Drive to Power Inn Road; north along Power Inn Road to Elsie Avenue; east along Elsie Avenue to Wilbur Way; north along Wilbur Way to Gerber Road; and east along Gerber Road to Vineyard Road.
Installation of Landscaped Medians – Spring/Summer 2008
FRWA will install landscaped medians for the Sacramento County Department of Transportation (SACDOT) beginning in May 2008. The medians are being installed for safety and traffic calming and to enhance the aesthetics of the existing roadway. FRWA is installing the medians in partnership with SACDOT in order to reduce further disruption in the road to residents and commuters.
The first section of medians to be installed will be on Gerber Road between French Road and Elk Grove-Florin Road. Click here to view a map showing the location of the medians, turn access onto Gerber Road, and new stoplights to accommodate left turns and u-turns.
The landscaping within the medians will include a variety of native trees, shrubs, groundcover or vines, and stamped concrete.
FRWA will also install medians for SACDOT along the following roadways during Summer/Fall 2008:
- On Gerber Road, west of Wilbur Way
- On Power Inn Road, north of Elsie Avenue and south of Gerber Road
- On Elsie Avenue, between Power Inn Road and Wilbur Way

Latest Construction News
Install 84-inch pipeline on Power Inn Road between Auberry Drive and Elsie Avenue Southbound lanes of Power Inn Road will be closed between Rangeview Road and Auberry Drive. Traffic rerouted to northbound lanes where one south and one northbound lane will be available. Install 84-inch pipeline on Gerber between Elk Grove-Florin to Bradshaw Pipe installation is almost complete. Roadway improvements and ditch reconstruction began the week of July 21 and is continuing. Install 84-inch pipeline on Auberry between Stockton Blvd. and Power Inn Road Pipe installation is almost complete. Roadway to re-open the week of August 11. Install landscaped medians on Gerber Road between French and Elk-Grove Florin roads. Construction of the landscaped medians began in May and will continue through August.
