PipelinesPipeline Segment 1Segment 1 of the pipeline is located between Interstate 5 and Highway 99 in Sacramento. After leaving the water intake facility, the pipeline crosses under Interstate 5 and continues east through the future extension of Cosumnes River Boulevard to Franklin Boulevard. At Franklin Boulevard, the alignment follows Cosumnes River Boulevard to Bruceville Road. It heads north on Bruceville Road and east on Timberlake Way and crosses under Highway 99. The pipeline emerges east of Highway 99 at East Stockton Blvd. This section of the pipeline is approximately 5 miles long. Pipeline Segment 2Segment 2 of the pipeline is located between Highway 99 and the Gerber/Vineyard Road intersection in Sacramento County. The segment is 7.6 miles long and begins just east of Highway 99 at East Stockton Boulevard and the extension of Auberry Drive. It continues east along Auberry Drive to Power Inn Road, north along Power Inn Road to Elsie Avenue, east along Elsie Avenue to Wilbur Way, north along Wilbur Way to Gerber Road, and east along Gerber Road to Vineyard Road. Pipeline Segment 3Segment 3 of the pipeline begins at the intersection of Gerber and Vineyard Roads and continues east on Gerber Road and through approximately four miles of open land to the Folsom South Canal, near Grant Line Road, in Sacramento County. This portion of the pipeline is 72 inches in diameter and can transport up to 100 million gallons of water to EBMUD to use during dry years only. Water discharges from the FRWA pipeline into the Folsom South Canal and travels to the southern end of the canal, where it is pumped through pipelines to EBMUD’s Mokelumne Aqueducts in San Joaquin County. From the aqueducts, the water travels 90 miles for delivery to EBMUD customers. Pipeline Segment 4Segment 4 of the pipeline begins at the intersection of Gerber and Vineyard Roads and heads approximately one mile north of Vineyard Road to Sacramento County Water Agency’s (SCWA) Vineyard Surface Water Treatment plant located at Florin and Knox Roads. This portion of the pipe is 66 inches in diameter and can transport up to 85 million gallons of water daily. After treatment, the water will be distributed to customers in SCWA’s service area in central Sacramento County. Clay Station Pumping PlantThe Clay Station Pumping Plant is a new 100 million gallon per day (MGD) pumping plant. Construction of the pumping plant includes the following
Northern Reach PipelineThe pipeline includes construction of approximately 32,500 feet of 72-inch diameter mortar-lined and dielectric-coated (ML&DCS) steel pipe. Middle Reach PipelineThe pipeline includes construction of approximately 36,450 feet of 72-inch diameter mortar-lined and dielectric-coated (ML&DCS) steel pipe. Southern Reach PipelineThe pipeline includes construction of approximately 24,410 feet of 72-inch diameter mortar lined and dielectric coated (ML&DCS) steel pipe and 430 feet of RCC Pipe. It also includes two trenchless crossings: a 430 lineal foot microtunnel under the Mokelumne River and a 240 lineal foot tunnel under Highway 12 Camanche Pumping PlantThe Camanche Station Pumping Plant is a new 100 million gallon per day (MGD) pumping plant. Construction of the pumping plant includes the following: A reinforced concrete pumping plant building approximately 46 ft wide x 217 ft long with related piping. Installation of four variable frequency drive, 2000 hp vertical turbine pumps and motors
Brandt Flow Splitting FacilityThe Brandt Flow Splitting Facility involves the construction of a reinforced concrete flowmeter vault structure with two 54" lines and one 42" line. Each line will include valves, flowmeters, and other instruments. Work also includes connections to the three existing Mokelumne aqueducts. |
