The FRWP facilities include a water intake/pumping plant located on the Sacramento River, a 17-mile pipeline to convey water from the river through Sacramento County to the Folsom South Canal, a new water treatment plant in central Sacramento County, a new water pumping plant at the southern end of the Folsom South Canal, and a pipeline to convey water from the Folsom South Canal pumping plant to the Mokelumne Aqueducts in San Joaquin County.
